“On the marketing and sales side, MNSs allow upper management to initiate instant conference calls,” the article said. “Today’s businesses are growing into more global enterprises with employees scattered across the world and oftentimes E-mails or traditional conference bridges are not efficient ways to communicate with team members.” Using the MNS software, managers can send meeting alerts (with delivery confirmation) for recipients to immediately join the call by simply pressing a button on their device.

Associates  can also be kept alert to major organizational changes with “corporate-sponsored messages” or be immediately notified about ongoing maintenance projects, inclement weather, parking closures, and other situations, the article pointed out.

In addition to communicating better within the organization, these systems can send alerts and notifications to customers, vendors, and distributors, the article said. Customers can be sent targeted surveys and polls providing quick, useful feedback.

Government agencies are using MNS to also minimize costs by sending out messages to local residents about arising situations.

Universities are also using mass notification systems to improve efficiency and communication, the article said, through sending mass alerts about faculty meetings, class venue changes, reminders about deadlines or changes, and class cancellations.

The ways that these mass notification systems can be used to help improve security, efficiency, and communication are almost to no end.
